2018 April Break & Beyond

  • The Friends of the Cutler Memorial Library's Annual Plant & Book Sale is coming up!            Friday & Saturday, 5/18 and 5/19
  • 2nd Sunday Summer Sing-along, mark our 1st scheduled Summer Reading Program on your calendar!

 

Families!! With April School Vacation just around the corner, we just want to remind you of all the FUN and USEFUL items you and your children have access to at the LIBRARY, not just next week but all year round! Besides an up-to-date and diverse collection of books, audiobooks and movies for kids, we have a great collection of toys and games that keep them happily at play for hours while mom and/or dad catch up on some reading. We're offering a workshop for aspiring costume creators and also invite EVERYONE to come explore what Plainfield's library of tomorrow will look like. And we've gotHANDS-ON BINS: HOUSEHOLD TOOLS, a BICYCLE REPAIR KIT, a JEWELRY-MAKING KIT, WOODBURNING, PEN & INK, PAPER ARTS, HAND WEAVING, FIBER ARTS, a UKULELE, a DIGITAL TELESCOPE, a ROBOTICS KIT, RUG-HOOKING, FLOWER-PRESSING, "DIGITAL MEDIA MAKER." We'll lend you an MP3 player, an e-reader, let you use one of our laptops or Chromebooks or the iPad or Kindle Fire tablet while you're here... And we have MUSEUM PASSES that provide free or discounted access to The American Precision Museum, The Billings Farm & Museum, the Fairbanks Museum & Planetatrium, the ECHO Lake Science Center, the Vermont History Center.

Meets every 1st Wednesday at 7 pm. New members welcome!

Library Board of Trustees
Meets every 2nd Wednesday, 4:30 pm. Open to the public.

Plainfield Marshfield Resistance Community
Meets every 2nd Saturday, 10 am. New members welcome!

Friends of the Cutler Memorial Library; new members invited!
Meets every 4th Monday, 7 pm Except in summer

Come to our Expansion Planning Party: we'll have positive pie PIZZA! Friday April 20th 6-8 pm at the library. Families encouraged; RSVP, we may provide childcare.

Please come be part of the conversation! We're designing an expansion to make the library 100% accessible and it will improve the space for EVERYONE. What do you want to see? What priorities are important to you? We especially encourage parents and their kids to come; we're building the addition to better serve families and groups too!! Thank you, Positive Pie, for contributing the delicious pizza. The addition might take five years... so what do you want our library to look like in 2023?!

Free Workshop: Cardboard Critter Constume Construction with Rayna Yahm-Halberg and Rebecca Yahm Tuesday April 17th 3-4:30 pm

The Annual Plant and Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Cutler Memorial Library will be on Friday and Saturday, May 18th and 19th, from 9 am to 5 pm on Friday and from 9 am until 2 pm on Saturday. The Friends are seeking volunteers to assist with the sale and also donations of plant starts.  Please call 454-8504 for more information about volunteering or, if you have questions about donating plant starts, call Maria McKnight at 454-7746.
